Inspectorsâ Key Findings are summarised below.
Key findings
This is a good school. Pupils learn well in a cohesive community where pupils work and play together harmoniously. Staff, pupils and the governing body are proud of the successful start they have made as a new school and have secure plans for further improvement. âMy child has had the best possible start to his education,â said one mother.
Pupils reach above-average levels in reading, writing and mathematics and achieve well. All groups of pupils make good progress, although rates of progress vary very slightly from class to class.
Teachers have high expectations and good subject knowledge. Tasks are generally matched well to the needs of different abilities of learners. There are some inconsistencies in the quality of marking, in teachersâ use of questions and in the way pupilsâ targets are set. Teaching gives good support to pupilsâ personal development.
Behaviour and attitudes in lessons are good, and sometimes exemplary. Pupils say that bullying very rarely occurs, and if it does, school staff are very quick to deal with it. The very large majority of pupils say they feel safe in school. Relationships at all levels are excellent. Over time, pupils develop qualities that will support them well as they move to the next stage of education and help them to become good citizens.
The new headteacher, ably supported by the senior leadership team, provides strong leadership and vision. A number of significant initiatives have been put in place and outcomes are already positive. Data about pupilsâ performance are analysed well and effective monitoring of teaching and performance management are ensuring that teaching is improving.

As a Church of England Primary School we also have a Statutory Inspection conduced by the Diocese. Our last SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools) was on 26th June 2012.Â
We are delighted that the Inspection confirms that Cranford Park CE Primary School, through its distinctive Christian character, is good in meeting the needs of all learners. The Inspector judged both the impact of collective worship on the school community and the leadership and management of the school to be good.
âCranford Park CE Primary School has a strong Christian ethos. Standards of care and provision for pupils are good and fully inclusive. Through the commitment and dedication of staff, pupils feel valued and supported to achieve good standards of spiritual, moral, social and cultural progress and attainment. This is a good school with an enthusiastic Headteacher, very supportive staff and close community links.â
The report highlights some established strengths of our school:
- The vision and dedication of the Headteacher in leading a new school community to develop a nurturing Christian ethos.
- The quality of relationships between staff, governors and parents, who all work hard to provide a rich and creative curriculum, which impacts positively on pupilsâ aspirations and learning.
- A place where every pupil is valued and unique, which allows them to be confident, to express themselves without fear and value each other.
- The commitment of the school to preparing learners for life in a multicultural society.
