Spring 1 Update

Last half term, Year R enjoyed a very special surprise birthday party for our class elf, Elliot! 🎉 Through festive games and activities, the children answered questions linked to their RE learning about celebrations, birthdays, and how Christians celebrate Jesus’ birthday at Christmas. It was a wonderful way to bring learning to life through real experiences, discussion, and play 🎅🎄

The children were also absolute superstars in the EYFS and KS1 Nativity, confidently performing and truly letting their light shine. We are so proud of them all.

This half term, our new topic is Castles! 🏰 We began with a mysterious delivery—a bag filled with curious objects including a ring, gold coins, a crown, a cloak, a trophy, and even a dragon! The children loved guessing who the items might belong to, suggesting a king, a princess, or perhaps even a pirate who had stolen them from a castle.

We also enjoyed dressing up as a king and thinking carefully about what new rule we would introduce if we were in charge. There were some very thoughtful (and imaginative!) ideas.

We are really looking forward to learning more about castles and their features as the term continues.
