Welcome back to a new school year and to Year 5. We are so excited to be sharing another year with this class and have already hit the ground running!

Our Topic for this half term will be Earth and Space and we are really looking forward to finding out all about Space and the different planets around us. We are planning a trip to Winchester Space Centre later on this term so watch this space! We will also be finding out about Rivers in our Geography lessons.

In English our first book is The Man who Walked between the Towers, all about the Twin Towers – celebrating the amazing feat of engineering which resulted in these two impressive towers. In reading we will be finishing the book we were reading last year 'The Last Firefox', before moving on to a book about Neil Armstrong.    

Our learning behaviour for this term is Curiosity and we have been talking about how we need to be curious in all our learning – what do we want to know and how will we find it out? We can’t wait to see how much more we will learn with our growth mindset and Curiosity in our toolkits!
